Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Joshua's Mission?
A: It is an organization giving financial, spiritual, educational, and morale boosting support to wounded Marines while recovering from their injuries in the hospital and their families.

Q: How does a family apply for and receive financial aide?
A: The family member applying for aide will be given a questionnaire to fill out. The information provided will determine if the applicant should receive aide
and how much. A Marine without family can apply too. We'll help you.

Q: What other types of aide are available?
A: Educational by way of referrals to places who can help you where Joshua's Mission cannot, spiritual when needed, entertainment items and Clothing for the Marine to use in the hospital. As we start talking with family members and determine other types of aide they require we will try to help.

Q: Where will money come from to give to the Marine's and families?
A: Money will be raised from donations given by individuals, businesses, Churches, corporations, private foundations, and other agencies of all types.

Q: I want to show my support and appreciation, how do I give?
A: You can go to the web site at www.johsuasmission.org and donate through PAY PAL, or you can send a check or money order, the address is on the
donation page. Donations of all sizes are more then welcome, we have a big job to do so much is needed and all helps!!!

Q: Will other Military Branches receive help?
A: Yes, as time goes on and the funds grow, all services will receive help, but Now at start up time we are starting with the Marines.

Q: Why did Joshua's Mission start?
A: The founder Pat Merkel, was communicating with a young Marine during 2005 while he was in Iraq. He e-mailed pictures of himself and his team, while looking at
the pictures, seeing the young men giving so much of themselves, they are all volunteers, they were not drafted into service, but there they were in Iraq. She decided she needed to do something of lasting value for the Marines and our other Military members. There are many things being done for our Military but there didn't seem to be much being done for the wounded. There are so many more survivors during these 2 wars then any previous wars. You can go to www.defenselink.mil to look up statistics on the number of wounded in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Q: WHAT IS OUR NONPROFIT ID #:
A:
Joshua's Mission is an IRS certified 501 c(3) Non Profit organization located in the State of Georgia. All donations are tax deductible
